I currently have a 5' bed and I have been thinking a lot about how nice it would be to have a 6' bed instead. If I were to swap bed sizes, is that possible? Is it simply unbolting the bed and then remounting another one? Any idea if a longer bed is more/less desirable when selling the truck?

if anyone has any experience with this, please let me know. thanks!

Isn’t it an entirely different frame size?

The extra foot of bed would be on your rear tires

Measure from back of cab to center of rear wheel on each type.

Let us know what you find.

Won’t work. Position of gas tank, wheels are all different. You’d look like a retard with the amount of bed sticking out in the back.

You'd be better off selling your truck and buying an AC or DCLB.... Probably save $10k too...

Anything is possible. Just depends on how much work and money you are willing to spend. I know it has been done on the Tundra.

It isn't as simple as swapping beds, otherwise loads of people would have done it.

The DCLB wheelbase is 140", while the DCSB is only 128".

So you would need to start by lengthening the frame just behind the cab, then new drive shaft, and all the electronics going to the rear. Fuel lines, etc, etc.

Or, you can go old school and relocate the wheel wells forward like a gasser. If it was good enough for pops, it's good enough for me.

never work. You could just fab it up yourself. kind of a combo of a regular bed and a flat bed but your ass would be so long still

Lol, why not just buy every single part of a Tacoma and build it from scratch.

Does the DCLB have a different size rear end too?
