The only thing you didn't mention was power steering fluid.

 

i just power washed it and drove it home. I don't see anything, but i did just check the power steering. I'm wondering if its brake fluid. a month ago, my brake light was on, and I discovered I was low. she has about 104k on her, might be time to do a full brake job when I replace the cv axles.

 

My guess was power steering fluid

 

ill double check when i get a second, just got into work. i powerwashed it last night, just got here, and there is some oil back again, so something is bound to be low.

 

nope. that was my first guess, and i'm so thankful its not the shock.

im thinking its gear oil, but it doesn't have that harsh stench to it, although, i'm fighting a cold, and cant taste or smell anything. i have a destroyed boot on my rh cv axle. so i'm gonna replace both, try and clean and reboot the old ones and keep em as spares, probably do wheel bearings and brakes at the same time.

 

on a side note, i did mount my pelfreybuilt front bumper. probably gonna get some lights from @CaliRaisedLed

 

we reinforced the bumped mounting point with some brackets from sos concepts, so with the supplied reinforcement brackets from pelfreybilt its pretty solid. trying to find the cheapest place to grab a zeon 10s

 

If you taking out the driver side shaft to replace inner boot. I would change the needle bearing to the ECGS bushing. And replace the seal.

 

how much of a pain in the ass is that to do?

Not at all. Pull the driver side shaft out of the diff. Remove old seal if ur gonna replace it (I would) use the pulley to get the needle bearing out. Make sure while your doing the disassembly to put the bushing in the freezer. Insert the bushing. Replace the seal. Insert the (cc) shaft in and done.

Do the 2nd gen get that vibration problem

 

It will add an hour to the project to pull the bearing and replace it.

Also change the oil in the diff.
