Does the tailgate lock and unlock when you unlock truck by touching the door handle? For those of you that wired it to the passenger side.

It'll lock/unlock anytime the door you wired it to does.

So just to be clear, is there no OEM electric tailgate locking option?.....I am planning on bringing in my taco for the 10,000 mile service in the next couple weeks and was hoping they would be able to install one while it was there

Its unclear based on the spec sheets to date, but they might be adding it to the 2018 models.

You could buy a Pop n lock and do it yourself, it isn't very hard to do.

Which is the same thing Toyota has been adding as a port- or dealer-installed option for the '16 and '17 models...

Yes and they charge you extra for it and the inconvenience of having to bring your Truck to the dealership.

Agreed. I wouldn't have them install it, it's super easy. But people who are looking of OEM should know that pop'n'lock is it

Do it yourself. A buddy gave me a hand last night while we laughed over some beers. Took both our buzzed asses about an hour and a half to install. I'm also a perfectionist so I used about 20 zip ties to make sure the cable was secured well along the frame. It's great. My buddy was so sad that Toyotas don't come with it preinstalled, but not a bad mod for $80.

Mine's been installed for several months now and all I can say is that I should not have taken this long to do it - such a nice feature and for something so cheap I cannot believe Toyota doesn't automatically include it

Does anyone happen to know the part number for the clips that secure the camera wires through the tailgate and bumper?

I test drove a 17 with the locking tailgate option at the dealership before I bought mine. I think it was like a $250 add on.

Yeah, I ultimately went to another dealer to buy my truck. I didn't want to pay a premium for all of their dealer add ons!
