So tried to change the oil today. Took out what I thought was the drain plug. nothing came out... Tried another bolt and again nothing. So I just kept trying another. and another. 4 bolts and still no oil!!! Turns out I just removed the front seat, the drain plug is UNDER the truck?!

There's a pretty epic thread here where some guy filled his transmission with radiator fluid because "the colors matched"
He was a "medic, not a mechanic"
Wouldn't want him to respond to my accident haha

Easy now. Those two contradict each other, and as a guy who only eats veggies and fish I'm not sure I like what you're getting at

So... am I the only person that just puts one of the five quart bottles in and calls it good? :anonymous:
The dipstick was never a good indicator of oil level... so I never even look at it

my dipstick works fine. Clearly this is operator error on failure to read dipsticks properly...

Nope. I did the same thing, there's definitely some room for error. I think I checked the dipstick on my truck once in the 6 years I owned it.

You're fine dude, I did the exact same thing. Ran mine for a week like that. No issues until tranny started slipping. Realized my mistake. Corrected it. Truck runs just as good as before. Since then 10,000 miles have been added and zero issues.
