Gaudreau looks like garbage again this year. What happened to that kid?

 

The 2 young guys sure showed up last night. Should be interesting seeing what Toronto and Edmonton do, this season. But it looks like no drop-off with their stars, if yesterday was any indication.

As far as Pens game. It was weird. Slot was open all night. Not saying Murray had his best game either, but man I was shocked how open the middle was. Pens could've scored 10 goals though, it seemed. Just didn't find the back of the net on a few of those. Oh well, was cool to see the banner raise and it was a fun game to watch. Glad hockey is back.

 

I hope to god the Caps get their act together this year. Tired of getting the participation banners to hang up.

 

Leafs game wasnt really something Im paying attention to because the jets were so fucking terrible. They look like a lottery team unless a new magic goalie appears there

 

I think they are done, dude. They should be decent but I bet they will be even worse this year, honestly.

 

Yep, I won't be holding my breath when playoff time time rolls around .

 

I would say the caps will be better for sure. No more expectation and the biggest problem last year was IMO Holtby was average in the playoffs. Leafs made him look bad most games they played. If he plays well they are a top 5 team

 

Holtby is a great goalie and yes he let some soft goals in, but our biggest problem is defense.

 

Too be fair the entire Jets team looked bad. While Mason was problem number one the Leafs were allowed to do whatever they wanted in the attacking zone and the Jets couldn't setup their power play to produce quality opportunities. The Jets put up a lot of shots but very few quality chances.

For the Leafs they need to be more disciplined. That much time short handed should of killed them.

 

They lost a couple good players. Their D is worse. I don't see how they will be better, but I could be wrong.

I still think Holtby is 1 of the best in the league. I don't really blame him for the playoff exit. I agree with you that their D was a bit of an issue, but now I think they are even worse at that position. That last pairing is kinda rough and Orpik in the top 4 is a bit sketchy. Like I said, they will be decent but I just don't see how they could possibly be better. We will see.
