Building Inspector???? Does anyone do this? or know much about it?

    I have been offered a chance to work as an apprentice with a building inspector. Does anyone know much about this? Does anyone do this? Your opinions and thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    the area i work in, the building inspectors make an awesome wage compared to the actual workers. nice cushy government/municipality job with paid vacation, company vehicles, good benefits.

    it is dependent on the industry though :). it is an 'easy' job in terms of labor work but your ass is on the line all the time (such as letting something small slip through on a building permit and it fails down the road = your responsible)

    I was also wondering about being responsible for things that go wrong. Apperantly your protected by the "Act", so your not leagaly liable.

    our building inspectors let nothing slip because they are afraid of the legal responsibility. wonder if its that different from province to province? :notsure:
