My steering wheel had a shimmy since new. Toyota said "it's a truck, they all do that"

I jammed a zip tie in there and it tightened it up a little. The other issue was the bad needle bearing installed wrong from the factory... Again, Toyota said it's normal.

But they do wear out after a while, and the TSB might help, but good luck with them stepping up to honor it.

I did the zip tie too but I'd rather them replace that. I also did the needle bearing. Thanks for the help!

Sounds like you need a 2nd Tundra. One with a standard cab long bed and a high-rise commercial topper

Retirement sounds like a better solution. But that's just me thinking out loud. :D

    It's just a vacation. o_O

I can not imagine actually retiring without something to do... I'd go (more) crazy. I'm looking forward to working again, have to keep the cycle going and upgrade the scope of vacation each time.

Buying a rig and exploring Australia is tentatively scheduled for 2018. :bananadance: It's all hard work, just different form of a paycheck. :burp:

Got two of us so far if anyone is interested.

It's really not too difficult, anyone could do it if you wanted. I just don't spend money on tv or cable, nightly drinks at the bar, magazines, guns, kids, pets. Those are all fine things for others, just not something that I have to factor into my budget. I would have a dog if it wasn't for the anti dog rules at national parks, which sucks. But spending wisely and saving adds up quickly... Which funds trips where the only real expense is gas.

And not paying front range rent can cover a lavish lifestyle on the road.

Funny you should mention that. Just saw this headline yesterday on exploringoverland.com http://www.exploringoverland.com/explore-australia

    Heck yeah.

My truck is pretty decently setup for my uses, and is still 'stock' compared to most, but I've spent time with many along this journey that prove that you don't need an #expoAF can opener or anything else to make it happen.

Yup, I wish everyone would do what makes them happy and whatever they deem happy is none of my business.

For me, busting my ass 50hrs a week with no regular vacation for some magical retirement in 30+ years isn't my thing. I'm saving for that time as well, but I'd rather live while I'm still able to walk/hike, etc.

Might want to see if they will give you a VISA before you move Australia off the Tentative list.

Not planning on living there or staying longer than 3 months which is the short stay maximum time.
