Why though? Honestly. In a lot of these mass shooting situations a "good guy with a gun" isn't going to do anything.

I feel this is more the intended use for a CCW.

No, but a bad guy with a gun will think twice if everyone around him is packing. Again if someone is hell bent on doing something nothing is going to stop them

I would agree. Though whats hard is I'm not worried about a guy like that having a CCW. I'm worried about crazy people having it.

Indeed. But even if it was fully legal a small minority of people would probably CCW. The same people who CCW now.

Do you believe those crazy people would abide by the law in the first place?

A crazy person is going to wield a weapon whether it's legal or not.

I wouldn't "do away with it". I just think there needs to be more of a psych evaluation before being approved.

I agree, one should be sound of mind with no violent prior offenses to get a CCW. I also feel that should be required to purchase a firearm.

I in no way know enough about the laws to really get into it, but a psych evaluation seems as though it should be common sense.

A felony check and a psych evaluation are not the same.

True. But it will catch some. I also believe if one is on psychotropic meds they should be denied firearms.

There’s a lot that should disqualify people but than everyone starts arguing about their rights ... I do agree though should be an automatic denial

Yeah, no way around them (HIPPA). I am curious on how many of these shooters were on meds and if they stopped taking them, equaling a snap.
