Anyone with the 2tr-fe- is the top of the lower oil pan high enough for the oil return line, or do I have to tap the upper pan? Interested to know BEFORE I drop the pan in the future. I know I can just measure with water once it's out, but this would help me plan ahead.

Glad to see so many people trying e85. I really hate when these ignorant haters come in spewing this political, socio-economical nonsense when it's like... bro it's pump alcohol fuel at $2/gal, just tryna get lit here, not save the fuckin planet.

I been looking at that, and will probably tap the sub pan. There is a windage tray between the upper and lower, so i know for sure it will be above the oil level.

Is there a downside to using E85 will it mess anything up?

    A thing or two...
E85 lacks the lubrication properties that gasoline has, so if you're not running a pump that is rated for E85, it will kill your pump eventually. Most people mix E85 and gas to get around E50 if they're not running an E85 rated pump, so it lasts longer.

Also it gets horrible mileage since alcohol takes about twice as much for combustion as gas but the difference is much less under boost because fractions and ur not worried about mileage at that point anyway

If the pump is the only thing then I’m good because mine is rated for E85

Injectors need to handle the higher flow, of course. And your tune will certainly need changing. But besides those, then yep it's easy-peazy.

No, it's better in every way. Gas mileage is usually a wash depending on what your premium fuel costs. For me it's actually cheaper per mile to use e85. The only legitimate downside is it probably won't last forever, so don't build an engine that can only run on it. As it is now the production of ethanol fuel is highly subsidized, aka paid for by US tax dollars, which is why it's so cheap so if and when that goes away it will likely be a lot more expensive.

There are some other issues, i thinj i imply have one station on my commute so locating it may be a problem. Winter blends have less ethanol in it so if u dont have way of reading the e content this could cause some issues when it goes from e85 to e70. And im sure there are a couple more little things
