Has Nuclear Blast gone downhill over the years? Did they go the way of Roadrunner? RR was good till they signed Nickelback. They seemed to go downhill after that.

I am not really sure of the history, since I'm a younger metal-head. I just know a lot of bands, once they've sign to NB, start sucking.
One label I do know that has gone downhill is Metal Blade...

Yeah. Labels sorta fell by the wayside overall. I think you reach a point you get a little coin and you can throw money at a highest bottom of the barrel metal band which then makes you suck as a label. I think.

I guess the reason why NB is off putting to me is because they've picked up a ton of great bands past their prime, hyped their names back up riding the coat tails of what they once were and forced out albums full of let downs.

I think RoadRunner had done that with a few bands. Doesn't look like they have many artist signed at the moment. Many of the bands I listen to left the label. Fear Factory even wrote a song about them:

My drummer just pulled this one up. Never was into this style (kinda like Saxon I guess) but damn if that funny voice doesn't get stuck in your head...

    Im 58.
Back in 77 I was listening to Black Sabbath, Rush, Judas Priest and Uriah Heep.
Today its Avenged Seven Fold and Shine Down. Maybe getting old but still like it loud.
    Hearing aids help to.

Manilla Road rules. I love traditional heavy metal.

This is one of the best trad releases this year: https://satanshallow.bandcamp.com/album/satans-hallow
