They really are pathetic. Out of habit I kept all 6 speakers when I swapped them out thinking I’d give the originals away, and then thought, “who the f@$& would want these?!?”

Or maybe hang onto them if you sell the truck, you could put the oem back in

So, I just finished the install and it sounds great.. Thanks to the OP. To install the sound mat and and speakers it only took about 9 hours.... A heads up to would be installers that I don’t believe I read, make sure your inner door cables are connected before you shut the door. My passenger rear is closed now until I can figure out how to get back in there to reattach the cable. I can’t remove the panel with the door shut. Any hints are appreciated.

i usually imagine taking things apart and putting them back together in my head a few times before i start a project.
(also watching a few youtube videos will help you with the visuals)
that way i have an idea of the tools i will need and possible problems i might come across.
what you mentioned about the door cables was one of the problems i thought about
so i was careful when i put everything back together.
i know that doesn't help you now, but it might for your next project.

Tossed them in the trash. They're only there to plug the holes in the door panel.

Just installed Subaru H631SFJ101 tweeters in dash and what a difference. faded to rear speakers and the sound was pathetic. No doubt what I have to do next. This is endless.

Ha! You can take it however far you want... For me the <$300 I spent on the 6 speakers + Noico deadening is plenty! Enjoy!

Did you put the baffels on the back? I just ordered the rear 6.5 kickers said the baffels are out of stock. Figure to start in back and work my way forward.

I did not use baffles. All I used (and I'm very happy with the results) were the tweeters, kicker CS series rear and front, and noico - at this time I've only done the deadening in the front where the bass is primarily coming from. At some point I'll add some to the rears but I'm very happy with the sound as-is. Go as deep as you want to though and report back on how it works out!

I did the 6 speaker swap bshammer0 outlined in the beginning of this thread. Sounds great. Improvement well worth the cost and effort. The sub addition may not be worth the effort for me, we'll see. The video was very helpful to guide me on how to take doors apart.

Once I got everything installed and back together my back driver-side door won't open... Off to a different thread to figure out what I did (or didn't) do.

    Thanks again.
