Oh, if we're starting a wish list I nominate the high tech seat bolt covers that pop free at a touch.

@mechanicjon makes metal reinforcements for the plastic seat shields - you can buy one here.

    The is a great idea.

FYI I bought new scuff plates and the plastic expanding parts still broke a few months later when I pulled them off for some deep cleaning

I did this over the weekend because of this thread.
    Thanks OP!

I picked mine up from the random fasteners rack at my local PepBoys.

Much cheaper than an $80 sill plate.

I did this a couple weekends ago and go figure, IT WORKED! lol

The part numbers aren't that important, you just need the nylon nuts, about 1/4" in size as pictured on page 1. I found some at an O'Reily auto parts in with all the random fasteners/bolts isle.

I even used a dremel and sanded down the posts a bit to make sure they were flat, and worked like a charm.

FYI: If you buy new scuff plates the tangs will break off the first time they're removed, even if weeks later. It could be one or all of them. Toyota cheese out on this part

There’s probably some $85 special factory service tool that removes them, lol

It is unfortunate that they didn’t design the part to be easily removeable...
