Not sure this award deserves "a name". Too many greats belong on it of which Mays was only one . . . but not so much "in the World Series".

    Surprisingly enough . . . they didn't ask me [??] :notsure:

    Oh well, on a lighter front . . .

Zach Greinke has developed into a hell of a pitcher but he lost again coming back to KC tonight. 0-4 since he left KC and, the part I did not know, KC is the only MLB team he has NOT beaten.

    Some irony there, me thinks!

Nothing to play for but the wife and I are "finally" going to go up and watch the core team one last time before we likely lose about 1/2 of them next year.
Ned is playing his starters clear through Sunday just for fan appreciation. :woot:

Rumor has it a bunch of super rich MFs are trying to scrape a $100M contract together just to keep Hosmer. As good as he is, that ain't how we "got good" and won't be how we "get good" again. In our market, having one player making $5-15M more per year than anyone else generally doesn't help gel the whole team effort, small ball, get em on, get em over, get em in, pen to win philosophy that got us there in 14 and 15. And, we completely blew away the old Royals home run record by 25 as of today yet no playoffs, third place, not even .500 record unless we sweep Arizona.

But, I'll still be watching the playoffs . . . going to be some absolutely killer matchups!

Agreed Mays doesn't belong on the award(on of the greats though) he won his only World Series in1954 and played till the early 70's. Koufax, Mantle, Reggie Jackson, Bob Gibson. In the four World Series he played in he stunk it up.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Looks like my Giants will avoid the 100 game mark... At least something not-negative

IMG_7733.jpg I was pulling for the Brewers. I wanted them to take out the Dodgers and then possibly face the Cubs after they squeeze by the Nationals. A series at
Wrigley north.... AKA Miller park. 3 hours of tailgating with the willowbrook road gun club crew could have been sweet!

I rooted for them against the mets in the World Series. A manager can add 4-5 wins. Unfortunately Ned yost is a horrible manager. He was terrible in Milwaukee. Lucky for you Kc fans , the talent on kc's team overcame Ned. I still remember the Royals vs cardinals World Series like it was yesterday.

Go Cubbies! Hoping to get back to Wrigley for a post-season game this year! Last season we all flew up for NCLS game 1 - an experience I'll never forget!

Probably no consolation but, when the other team's relief pitcher hits a 2 run triple, some times it was just meant to be.

The Giants weren't favored in any of the World Series they won but somehow did it anyway. Just to get there you have to get by 2-3 other teams first and they did it every which way. In 2010 it was the band of misfits, in 2012 winning 7 elimination games including down 3-1 and 2014 via the wild card, an 18 inning win against the Nat's, Crawford's slam against the Pirates, Travis Ishikawa's walk off homer to beat the Cardinals and Pablo's 2 pops against Verlander and another of the reliever, not luck. Every team playing has earned the right to be there but only one gets to hoist the trophy so whoever it is give them the respect and praise which is their due, anything less is sour grapes.
