Hmm...that's interesting. Are the 8.4 3rds interchangeable between 1st and 2nd gens? Are the axle splines the same? Are the axle flanges the same? I've been toying with the idea of going to a 2nd Gen axle just for the extra width at some point. John, I know you said he has a E-locker axle ATM, but I'm thinking he might have an 8.4 in the future if this swap would work like I hope it would.

 

The locking axle is an 8.0. Even if it was 8.4 they don't swap without some fab I don't think

I was talking about an non-e-locker 8.4" out of a 2nd Gen.

 

Yeah honestly Lee I have no Idea. I think I will contact him and ask that everytime he get a tacoma in to contact me. Than I will transfer the info on here. Year, specs that kinda stuff. He also has some older land cruiser like a FJ62 They are extremely expensive after refurb , but he has to have some kinda insight to find all of these vintage yotas. He also had at a dozen FJ 40’s in different stages of the refurbishing process.Here is his contact if anybody want to contact him. He is a pretty nice guy and the parts he sold me were very fair priced.

If the weather shuts down my attempt to fish tomorrow (which most likely it will) I'm thinking about going over to the Fair grounds and checking out the Florida Sportsman Expo. Mainly interested in looking at Ankona skiffs in person. I'd love a Hellsbay, but 70K for a little boat just isn't something that even if I had the money I could justify.

Anyone else going to be there?

I was there today. My favorite ones there are Skull Island, they are amazing skiffs. Bring a rod and reel and we can fish. Few ponds are stocked

Bought a drone over the weekend. Took the taco out to red neck beach yesterday evening to fly around and mess with it the for the first time. Looking forward to making more videos and getting some good footage at the holder mine camp and ride this year. Enjoy
