1000yrs from now...it appears there must have been a shortage of charcoal in the early 21st century as we found a cache of ammo cans filled with charcoal...

@scottalot spends like 75% of his day cooking or smoking meat and buys charcoal in bulk like some people buy ammo...Rumor is he has it delivered by pallet to his house

So the 6.5 grendel uses normal AR mags? I’ve always thought about building one of those. Never had much interest in the 458 socom due to its “effective range,” I have a 460 s&w mag if I just want things to go boom :-D

6.5 Grendel uses its own mags because the follower is different and pmags won't work. They sell the mags in 5,10, 15 and 25 rounders. Gunmagwarehouse is the place to get them. I got two 10 for $30 with shipping

@scottalot just get a fully assembled one from PSA for $200 not a bad price for a completed lower. I had one when they first introduced ar10s to their company

If I didn't want a quiet SBR, I would have gone 458, but 300 AAC will do for now. I'll probably build a 458 upper and NOT stick it on my SBR lower.

    Shhhhh don't tell the ATF....

You can put whatever upper you want on a registered SBR lower.

Correct, but even with a 16"+ barrel it's still a SBR. Gotta love regulations.

Wow, lucky, and awesome! I've wanted to test the super 42 buffer and spring for quite some time. Can't run a jp silent buffer with the LT folding stock adapter but been wanting a more reliable spring and quieter spring. Testing for install in my SBR.
