@bullaculla To the rescue once again! Everything was pretty smooth with a couple hiccups that a machinist doesn't even flinch at :bananadance:. Ride is way smoother than the 5100/5160 combo. Mahalo again @bullaculla :drunk:

Yeah, he saved my ass today as well. I was replacing my heims at home and couldn't separate the spindle from the UCA bolt. Plus I didn't have a 12pt socket. He brought a puller over for the save...:cool::thumbsup:

    Just noticed this today.
Was sent to ECGS for regear. Haven't even really wheeled yet. Flinging oil all over my gas tank and exhaust pipe...

I wish, but no way they gonna pay to send it back from hawaii to east coast and back again. It cost me nearly $400 in shipping when they regeared it the first time.
I just saw some threads on the seal. Looks pretty easy to change. Just pull the flange and dust cover and it's right there.

Other than changing the seal, the only problem you may run into is the crush sleeve being set to the proper preload. If you had ecgs install the solid pinion spacer, disregard.

Solid spacer. Just gonna check to see how much torque it takes to remove the nut, and try to put it back the same or a little tighter.

He still needs to find out the torque on the nut since that sets the preload.

Could you just mark the nut position and try to get it back to the same spot?

Btw ECGS sent my kit with the wrong pinion seal, So when I drove home, there was oil everywhere. Jeff at MOR took care if it, got me the correct seal from Toyota and installed it too. I was surprised, since I provided them with the wrong seal in the first place.

Big thanks to ECGS! I sent them an email with pics of the oil flung everywhere, and they sent me a new seal and nut right away. I got it in the mail today. And they also told me since I have the solid spacer, that I just need to torque the nut to 185 ft lbs after swapping out the seal.

I finally got around to double shearing my pitman arm and notching the frame to clear the bolt head.

Plenty of clearance. I preheat the forged pitman arm with a torch prior to welding.

Don’t mind the stack of wooden blocks. They were just for jacking up the truck. I had jack stands under the axles, and under the frame near the cab mount. There was a little bit of weight on the blocks to keep the front frame from sagging. I still might box in the double shear plate, or add a guesser. Now I need to paint everything and hose down the inside of the frame again...

    Yay! Found another issue! :annoyed:
So yesterday after all the grinding and welding, I wanted to give the truck a quick wash to get all the grinding dust off. Was late and dark. After I was done, I parked the truck in the garage and noticed the passenger side footwell was full of water and could see it dripping from under the glove box. So I yank the glove box out and and check the cabin filter and it’s soaked. Cleaned up as much water as I could and left the filter out to dry. Was too late at night to deal with it. This morning I walk outside and noticed this gap in the cowl.
    4E28628F-F096-460B-9FA0-4F79E3E3FA07.jpg
I just had the windshield replaced recently so I figured they didn’t put it back on right. So I pull the wipers and take it off.
The way the cowl works is it has these little tabs that keep it tight against the windshield.
    878A7C49-4F28-4972-A172-7D0E96977E3E.jpg
Well, the two that are right above the AC intake were broken off.
    0EE3C5B3-3B90-48A9-8F65-17FC0063FF00.jpg
And I found them sitting right on the foam vent filter
    A04DD5E2-02AE-4478-B7DE-2EA3695EBD6B.jpg
So I call Servco toyota and they want $350 for a new cowl :bananadead:
I could go bitch to Ace auto glass, but they will probably claim was already broken since they know the windshield has been replaced 3 times now :(
I’ve read that some people put flashing over the intake so that water can’t go directly into the huge gaping hole, and I might do that too, but I’m gonna check around to see how much that piece would cost shipped from the mainland.
    Always something :violent:
