Searched and found a few similar threads on here, but not one dedicated to the ARB BP51 Suspension Directly. so here it his.

Feel Free to post up your Lift pictures with wheels and tires also. Id really like to get this thread aimed towards the Rebound and Compression adjustments.

20170929_180507.jpg 20170930_182648.jpg 20170930_182705.jpg 20170930_182711.jpg 20170930_182654.jpg First I want to apologize for the long post but I also want to share my experience with the install. So my Bp51 kit came a couple days ago and today I did the rear. It took quite a while because of having to install the dakars also. I also have to say that someone had once pointed out in another thread to connect the top of shock first and the on lower shock adapter bracket to finger tighten first. Well the first side I forgot about that and I followed the ARB directions which instructed to tighten the adapter bracket bolt to the 80 ft/lbs and had a pain in the butt time installing the shock after due to the bracket being squeezed. I then tried to bend the bracket while it was still mounted with the first bracket bolt. Probably after about 30 to 45 minutes of messing with it I pulled out the whole bracket and had to bend it back to original using some tools I had. After that it worked fine getting the shock in but I sure had beat up that mount. So as someone else said, only finger tighten the bracket mount bolt first, install top of shock, then lower shock bolt, then tighten up all the bolts. Other side went way faster.
I also stopped by ORW here in San Diego. For $46 they compressed my front coilovers and set my preload to 10mm per Drew aka Wildpeak's recommendation and also what it actually says in the install manual for people that don't have extra weight in the front. The guys at ORW actually recommended to stay at 20mm because they think my 285 tires won't clear with the 10mm setting but we will see after I hopefully install the fronts tomorrow. ORW stated they haven't actually installed a bp51 kit so the wheels not fitting at 10mm was just their guess.
6 months ago when I first got the truck I installed front 3 inch spacers and 1 inch blocks in rear. Later after addition of a camper shell I installed a 2 inch block to level out the truck. The truck rode fine but I knew in due time I would eventually either go with bp51 or icon. I will post my measurements after everything is installed and settled. Here are some pics of the setup of the rear. Note one of the pictures is of a socket I used to offset the brakeline 1 inch higher.

Installed fronts today and it was pretty easy aside from the time it took to get the UCA bolt out. You have to bend the frame a bit. Also if you don't have a grease gun get one for the zerk fittings in the uca's. Luckily I had one with just the right amount of grease left.

After everything was bolted up and lowered to the ground, I used my leveler app on my phone pressed to my wheel to match the camber rear to front and adjusting the uca's. Not perfect science but it will get me to my alignment shop soon. I still haven't measured height yet because I need to get on level ground and after my alignmentI hope to post pictures then with measurements.

I did take the truck for a ride this morning before installing the fronts and it was weird because I could feel a bump when my front stock shocks hit a bump but when the rear OME shocks hit I could barely feel the impact.
I never measured right before the install but found some pictures with measurements from a few months ago with my previous lift and I am now sitting about an inch higher both front and rear.

One of the below pictures is of the passenger side UCA bolt being slid out.

I haven't really messed with my settings after dialing it in and sadly I can't remember them off the top of my head. I will say that I'm pretty happy with them. When I'm running on a trail with some friends, I have to be careful not to leave them behind. The suspension is amazing on washed out\corrugated roads.

Here is a pic after install:

The suspension eventually settled to a really nice ride height. I did have to remove one of the leafs out of the pack on each side to level it out a bit but that's no big deal.

So finally took my truck for it's first drive since last week's install. At first the 285 tires were rubbing on angle turns right or left on the mud flaps but then took it in for it's first post install alignment. The tech there stated that was due to the tow on both wheels being different which also caused some other driving sounds. He was able to get the fronts in spec but not the rears fit the toe. I do have spc Uca's. Everything else was fine. After alignment I am not having any rubbing on mudflaps but I do feel a slight humming vibration in the steering wheel. First impressions, the truck is pretty stiff right now over bumps. On turning freeway off ramps I feel little give to one side or another. I haven't even touched the compression or rebound but will just keep driving to break everything in. Hopefully doing another alignment in a couple weeks. 20171007_071453.jpg 20171007_071636.jpg 20171007_071532.jpg

For both front and rear? I only have rear wheel drive sport so would only need a rear if needed I guess.

Has anyone switched to the BP51's from bilstien 6112/5160's? How would these compare? What was the deciding point for you on purchasing the bp51's?

    Lots of sail boat fuel
I'm fairly certain they're miles better because they're specifically tuned to tacomas where 6112 are a generic ballpark setup. Also, the adjustability factor, the resi front and rear, and ARB had a specific dedication tacomas through the years. I've read a lot on them and it seems everyone loves them so far.

For that price i would sure hope so. Over 2k more than the 6112. Personally, that's the exact route that in going. 6112 for a couple years as I save up and buy other necessary trail gear and upgrade to bp51 down the line.

Glad to see this thread started to bring all the info to one

Your truck looks sick. Love the cap! Which one is it? I like the black on white.

That's what I thought the other poster meant. But that would be for a front differential and I don't have one.

Thanks brother. It's the ARE cap, V series overlanding. Bought it secondhand through TW member Wildpeak before he sold his taco. When I saw his BP51 setup he helped convince me to switch my mind from going with icons.
