I would first like to say HI to every one. This is my first post to this site though its probably the most used site that i go to.
Secondly, I upgraded to a projector headlight and looked at the bulbs that came with the headlights. They are H1's, both high and low beam. I know i want the 6000k but the high and low beams have their own buckets (1 projector and one normal cromed bucket. [IMG]I will see if I can post pics later but right now i want in on this GB.
The question is should i get 2 kits, one for high and 1 for low? or is there 1 kit to do what i need :confused:If there is just one kit for both high and low then i will order one more for fogs, not sure yet on size bulbs for fogs but i think i saw it on a previous post. Any ways please get back to me if you have any information that is helpful. Thanks :)
    maybe this one works [IMG]

so the guys over at ttora say its a no go with my headlights and there is no such thing as a plug and play kit for th 98-00 housings. apparantly its the lens and housing that causes a bad glare.

I would say so. The lens on the 98-00 was fraking huge so light will tend to scatter than in a smaller housing. If you really want those lights then get them and have them adjusted accordingly.

i think its not how big it is, but the clearness of the lens. i think if i got some diamond clear headlights i would be fine. and you said WAS huge. does that mean you replaced them on your taco? if so what have you done?

I did have HIDs on my '99 and I had to adjust them down a bit so as not to blink oncoming traffic. I also agree that these HIDs might work better with the clear headlights.

I bought the kit from ModExpress.com and had them installed for about 1.5 years before I sold the truck. The kit I have now is very similar to what Paul (slimcubby) sells. Install is pretty straightforward. Just take your time and ziptie the wiring to keep them out of the way. I have the HID kit now on my Honda Pilot, works great.

No problems at all. Light output was literally night and day, much brighter than regular halogen bulbs. Aim it like you would any other time, there should be 2 white knobs that you need to adjust, one for up and down movement and one for side to side movement, but I forget which knob does what because it's been some time since I've done that.

i just spent hours researching this HID crap. lots of info to be absorbed. i read this entire thread and i suggest everyone else does too.. so i have come to the conclusion that getting a projector kit like a g1 will be the best option. it gives out WAY more light than the plug and play kits and is not that much more expensive. i will be ordering aftermarket diamond clear headlights, g1 projectors, slim ballasts from ddm, and some 4300k bulbs. hopefully i can figure this stuff out. i think that the plug and play kit will be brighter than stock, but using a projector is a whole nother level. someone please correct me if my info is wrong.

btw im not bashing slims products at all because i am sure they are way better than stock, i just think im going to go another route.

The proper way to go is to do a full projector retrofit. Hopefully "yosh2000" or viet can chime in for you. If you have the money and time, the projectors are the way to go. If you have neither than the PnP kits would be a viable alternative.

Money seemed to be about the same. Lack of time and skill are the problems for me. I also don't want to take the headlight apart as I'm afraid of it fogging up like a lot of members on here.

Plug and play for me. Much better than stock and easy to install.
