Hello, I'm in the market for a used high mileage truck. Drive Toyota and Subaru exclusively. I'm going to test drive an 06 TRD Access Cab with 148,000 on it. What if anything specific to the Tacoma should I pay extra attention to?

Are they still replacing those or is that over?

Thanks for the tip. I'm in MI. So there will be some regardless, I'm guessing weld points, bolt pass throughs, etc are the culprit? It'll probably be obvious I imagine.

I wouldn't even say that is high mileage, I have an 06 with 128,000. the only issue I have had was Leaf Spring recall and that wasn't even an issue. I just got it done so the dealership would leave me alone.

Well that one didn't pan out, frame was pretty bad. Saw some holes, and they claimed to not have info on its claim status. They gave me the run around for two days prior to showing up (I asked for pictures of the frame) anyway. Thanks for the heads up guys!

I'm checking out a 2011 Access cab 4x4 SR5 with 122,000 tomorrow. Still a good deal and it's right around the corner. Hopefully it's good to go. Outside of that I'm going to have to move up in cost considerably...not the end of the world, was just hoping for something with a little more "character" that I could spend a few $ on upgrading and having a little more fun.

First mod ready to go...made a trade on some FRS parts I had left over. Brand new, still have mould lines.
