The dash board light for my A/C fan switch must have burned out. In the dark everything lights up but that area.
Is replacement of the bulb simple? What type bulb?
    Thanks.

Here's the issue I'm having... Happens about every 3 out of 5 times. Any idea? Can't be the bulb itself but probably the connection the bulb is making, or not making, in this case???

More than likely the filament in the bulb is loose, or the bulb might be loose [or have a loose connection] in its socket. It's a 1/4-turn socket so doubtful that's loose.

Takes ~5 minutes to replace, and the bulbs are cheap.

    I agree. It's the contacts.
The bulb contacts a circuit board.
I bought a package of five. Free shipping for $15. That's just $3 a pop.
There are even LED bulbs on Ebay.

An LED option? I bought some a while back that don't fit.

Neo T4.. I just ordered some from SuperbrightLeds.com. Looks like last time I ordered T5 from Amazon

I got the bulbs yesterday and two things:
    1) They are super tiny. Like a grain of rice tiny.
2)They are very easy to install. The plate pops off with a screwdriver blade and the same flatblade screwdriver removes the covers for the bulbs. Five minute job.

Don't go LED's they aren't nearly as bright as the bulbs. I've tried multiple types of LED and they don't light up like the bulbs do. If the light is going on and off... it's usually a bad connection. You just need to take the ac unit out re'adjust the bulb and then put it back in. Should fix the issue. If the connection is still weak... consider taping some foam in to have constant pressure on the connection points.

    Thanks for the info!
Mine is at the point where hitting it doesn't bring it back on, it just turns on whenever it likes.

Mine is the same... It just stays off now... need to pull it out and put it back in... takes like 1 minute but I just keep forgetting/not caring about it.
