My iPhone gives me weather alerts based on my location. I'm sure there's apps that give more functionality eliminating the need for a separate weather radio.

    Small useful for me stuff.
I had a nice discussion with the owner about this. He made mention about my homeowners and I let him know, no. Must keep the van in the locked yard at night and he doesn't care to pay for tools or to have me load and unload each day. It's simple in my simple mind. He is the insured of the tools. Maybe it's harsh but I'm tired of shops not caring to pay and expecting more and more at my(our) expense.

    As it should be.

I've asked before and was ignored. Guess I need to ask the paper pusher.

Keep pushing and asking until you get an answer. I've worked a couple of shops that just abuse the tool issue and get "upset" at the fact you don't let them use your stuff, or won't buy so the job can be completed. It's ridiculous, your on a multimillion dollar project and the shop won't pony up for $200-$2000 worth of needed write offs.

That's great. Now you can do your job, he keeps jobs moving, and get tax write offs. The way it should. We had a circuit tracer go down. They send me out of town for a night job and I found out 5 hrs away in the middle of the night the tool is broken. Yeah my bad for not testing before leaving but it should NOT have been broken. Take care of the equipment and issues like that don't happen.

This is really hard for me not to use colorful language. It makes my blood boil.
