Hey everyone, was riding on some trails yesterday and had to go into 4 low to give a buddy in his Ranger a little yank to get out of some mud. Ever since I put it back into 2wd, the transmission has been weird... no matter how quickly I accelerate, the rpms never exceed 2500 and it always hovers around 1000 rpms because it's been shifting so early. Any suggestions?

I'd probably add the word "up" to your thread title, right after the word "screw" :annoyed: or, not

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Only thing I can suggest is going back into 4lo then 4hi then 2wd. If that doesn't work, try resetting ecu. Just disconnect battery for awhile.

Ya I took the truck out of 4L. Just took it out and ran it through all the gears, put it in 4Low, then 4 High, and then back in 2 and is still shifting weird... will try to disconnect the battery. I bought the truck in August and have only been getting about 14 mpg regardless so I'm thinking transmission might need recalibrated or something if this doesn't work.

Next time leave your buddy, save your truck.

You have to go home with your truck, not your buddy (well, unless you’re into the that kind of thing- I ain’t judging)

If you were stuck in 4L then your RPMs would be really high, thus, something is wrong with the tranny, I'd get it checked. Good time to buy a warranty is now.
