Friendly reminder

Check your cab air filter every once in awhile.

 

I know mine is shot, and I refuse to replace it (for now) because every trip off road ruins it all over again.

 

That is some nasty chit.

 

I just sprayed mine out with the kitchen sink thingy, and ran a butter knife through the ribs. That made the wife real happy... but it looks a lot better

 

I imagine mine is due for service...

 

Easy no memory required solution is set the Amazon "Subscribe & Save" for a new filter every six months.

 

Highly recommend checking... I've posted this before, it's what I found in the used Avalon after I purchased it. Definitely the worst cabin filter I've changed myself, even without the shedded snake skin.

 

Holy *$!#, I feel a lot better about mine now. Was there even any air coming out the vents? .

I replace mine once a year when I do my oil change. Luckily I don’t find dead rats and sh*t like some people do in theirs.

 

Next time keep the old one and just swap it in whenever you hit up a trail. It's what I used to do with engine air filters because I'd go through them like crazy with the dusty trails we've got, before I switched to a washable one.

 

Not a bad idea at all! Had thought about the K&M filters but was told they let too much dust into the cabin.

At least you have a cabin air filter lol, 1st gens don't. Makes for a nice blast of a face full of dirt every time I use my AC after wheeling.

Surprisingly, the a/c was working fine... I don't know how, it was completely blocked.

 

'05's don't have them either. I think they started adding them in '06.

 

yeah you do! 1st gens definitely had boxed frames.
