This is from skyline. Misses that whole conversation but it’s it’s a fun place to go cruise around and hangout..... unfortunately my truck is out for the count right now so haven’t been active much or really driving it. Burning a whole lot of oil, no visible leaks. Replaced the pcv valve cleared it up a little then changes the plugs and now I’m smoking a lot. Running a compression test this evening once my brings it over and gonna check for a cracked ring or a hole in my piston. (Praying it isn’t one of those two so I don’t have to motor swap) if it’s not a cracked ring then my next assumption would be valve seals are gone or that when I pulled my valve cover the drain holes inside are stopped up. It’s just bothering me because all of my plugs were fouled and had oil on them and I can’t seem to google what would cause that problem.

Sounds like a cracked oil ring or rings but you may not know until you crack it open. You can do an engine swap if its needed but why not just rebuild the one you have?

If It’s rings my plan is to pull it put a used motor back in then rebuild my old one on my own time and then have an extra motor if ever needed. In the time it would take me to rebuild and do new rings I could have it swapped and driving again

Well compression test came back good all cylinders were with in 10psi from one another and you are allowed 15psi before you declare it having a bad ring... so good news is motor shouldn’t have to be pulled. Now it’s just a matter of figuring out where the hell oil is getting sucked from the oil pan to the throttle body. Had a guy tell me last night that if the intake gasket goes bad it makes a weird vacuum and would cause it to pump oil to the throttle body so this evening gonna pull the top of the intake apart and see if any oils in there. He said if I have a bunch of oil in there then the gasket will fix my oil loss/burnage. However if oil isn’t in there then it’s back to square 1.... also pulled the passenger side valve cover off to make sure the drains were working probably and both drains were clear and no oil puddled up in there.

Air locker, truetrac, open diff, e-locker. Looked in your build thread and saw it's the air locker.

Yep arb in rear. Never been much of a fan of the truetrac ever since I had a scary moment in one. But that's just my personal hang up.

Thank you sir. Can't "get up and go" right now as I am still in the break in period and have to baby it. But it definitely made a huge change. Especially after driving so long on stock gears and dirty foe's

Yea I def know what you mean, would be cool to check out how smooth it is on the gears. I think if my truck could have that stock acceleration and gearing feel where every hill isn't killing it, would be a nice change for it.

Well now I'm in Richmond for 30 days of leave, then I'm getting stationed at Wallops Island. Is there any "Most Northeast" groups?

There's a Maryland thread in the NE region section that's pretty active. There might be an eastern shore or VA beach thread in this section.
