Almost.. I got all the new files, but not the highly acclaimed V-1.01b.
I was planning to load 1.01b and just sit on the others until feedback started rolling in. Now I'm not sure what I'm gonna do.

Loaded 1.02C_A this morning, gotta give it some time to learn. Had a weird initial torque converter kick taking a slow uphill 90 degree turn, hopefully that settles down.

I'm reserving full judgement until after the learning period, but dYL0n's comment on the whole renting the truck to tune thing is very relevant. These weird quirks, even if just in the learning stage, probably wouldn't happen if OVTune was not reliant on other people's feedback on these updates and was able to road test/tune with his own understanding of the deficits. At this stage of the game with so many people having purchased this tune and an astronomically huge number of people in this community that could become future customers, it seems prudent to want to spend a lot of time in one of these vehicles himself and see/feel these things to tune out proactively.

Hell..if he's sold 150+ of these kits already, there's probably enough profit in all of that to have bought and paid for a Tacoma of his own.

 

Standing by for MT files... rolled in to work already. Brought my tuner laptop and gear though!

Just a little tip

 

So first thing I noticed with 1.02c was3rd gear held longer during my normal casual driving.
I have a feeling this one is gonna be nice.
Were the downshift parameters also adjusted? @OVTune

@OVTune does 1.02c address only "D-mode" for shifting or has ECT also been changed? I've seen this question asked many times but have not seen an answer.

 

That's what I use, and I agree it is more professional. Seems like OVtune is a very small company, like Mat plus 1-2 others maybe. I am a small automotive business with myself and two others. If I got hit up with this level of interest in one project I would be absolutely smoked and not able to get to anything else. The whole emailing out of individual files has got to be incredibly time consuming. Last email conversation I had with him sounded a bit different though, almost like he has somebody to monitor his account and filter out issues and prioritize responses.

Still waiting to get 1.02C for my MT. I reverted back to stock after 1.02B, as it felt a bit flat in some areas. Really waiting for a dedicated stock MT dyno session.
