Finally got out and tried Rocky Canyon. Was a little disappointed that it was mostly just a dirt road, but found some trails that ran off of it. Wife got a little freaked out doing them solo, so might have to find some others that would be interested in going up and exploring a little more. Also made our way out to bogus basin for the first time. Overall was a pretty good day even if I only found ONE mud hole to play in.

Also realized my KM2's are pretty much on their last leg. I guess I should bite the bullet and buy some replacements. Think I'll stick with them, but 33s this time. They lasted about 45ish thousand miles mostly on road, but a bit of offroading back in CA here and there.

there are some fun spots back there, not much of a challenge. It does get REEALLL interesting in the winter and makes for some fun/sketchy snow wheeling. Bring a friend, getting stuck 3" from the edge of the snow covered shelf road at night isnt fun by yourself

    Yup, that's the one.

Good to know, not that I'm great with heights without additional loss of traction. Is there an ending spot towards the top where it's easier to turn around? When my wife panicked in the middle I had to do a 94 point turn (DCLB) to get facing downward again.

That was where I was wanting to do meetup one evening. It takes like 30 minutes from downtown to get up there.
Anyone interest this coming Monday to Thursday? I’m planning on being gone on the weekend. Kids have two days off from school.

There’s like three places. One is not so far up where there ar some big pines on the right. Then there’s a hard left switch back that is at least three lanes wide. When you get up to the top, right before the little cabin, there’s a intersection that you can use.

Totally down for this, but unfortunately I'm pretty booked for the next 3 weeks or so. There's a PCA event next weekend I'm helping to put on, and then going on a cruise the following weeks. Would be down for maybe the first weekend in November if anyone is free?

depends on Which road you took. Eventually the main one ends a few miles from bogus basin and dumps on the road. Another one goes to Robie creek I believe...
But there really aren't turn arounds unless you get to another road intersection, or the OCCASIONAL wide outside turn.

I took a girl up there during a date once and she was loving the snow bashing, then I got cocky and the snow was getting deeper and I realized I had to turn around now or any further and I might be stuck, too bad the was no turn around, So I let the tires down to basically nothing, locked the bitch from and rear, got in a rut to hold the truck and pinned it to win it for about a mile driving with my torso out the truck in reverse.

I don't think she knew how close to fucked we were lol

Once I get the money from the Military I'm buying the materials and the lift. Putting the lift on then slowly within a few weeks build the rest. I won't be working or anything so it will be fine. Dads got a plasma table so cutting the parts out will be easy and he has a tube bender to make the sliders.

Haha! Once she freaked out we turned around, and continued down the main road we were on. Ended up in Robbie Creek. Though we did eventually come back and go to Bous since neither of us had been there yet.

For anyone interested the local Porsche club of America is hosting a car show at the village. Come check us out and say hi. Look for a white 964 I’ll be wiping down constantly. 12-4

That sounds good. Are you just talking about a ridge run or maybe something else?

Either or? So far that’s the only trail I know of so I’m up for whatever. Mind you I have no lockers and very minimal lift.

Yeah the center ones did shut off, the sides were blowing pretty good though. Glad it's not just mine!
