Cheers, thats what I thought. Makes the bushwackers seem like a bargain, but I prefer the OEM look! Truck looks great!!

If you can do a hood swap it’s well worth it especially if you are going for more the cosmetic on this mod for your truck. Recently went this route and debated whether I would really like having the hood scoop even tho it’s non functional. It’s perfect now and definitely adds the cosmetic touch I was looking for specifically with my truck. I’m more than happy with my decision. Plus a swap can be free compared to purchasing the air design mod. Worth checking out first prior to purchasing anything.

Not to mention that Airdesign doesn't reply to emails. If a company doesn't reply to emails, don't put an email link on the website.

Glad you're happy with the hood. Looks great!

Thank You! Yeah I’ve tried to reach out as well and haven’t received a response as well. Even through a couple PMs

That is awesome. I've been wanting to do something similar. What is that large bag? Is that a soft molle panel? If so, link? I was looking at the grayman tactical panels for a while but just don't think rigid panels are what I'll want.

Installed those Subaru tweeters yesterday......way better sound. Would almost say that’s all you would really need to do to make the stock sound so much better. Worth the $92 on Amazon.

Next this week is the Crutchfield’s install.

I bought a Sport for several reasons and the hood was one. A benefit, which could not be foreseen, to the scooped hood is that there is no flutter or vibration that many flat hoods experienced. Many of those had to go to dealers to add epoxy to the hood assembly joints. After nearly 2 years I have no hood issues. The only downside is the added weight that I quickly resolved with the Redline Tuning hood lift struts. I am still in a small minority that likes the stock grille. To me the SR and SR5 grilles just looked cheap in comparison. I am not saying this is the best grille but I am old school and like a little chrome. My 2014 F150 had a black grille and I hated it which swayed that decision. Regarding functional vs non-functional scoops I do not think pumping more air into these engines makes much difference. No more than an open box CAI.

I swapped out my SR5 grille because I thought a bird could fit easy thru it when I was driving down the highway. A TW brother out in the bay area sent me his OR grille. Nothing wrong with the black chrome grille in my book.

After some time I have grown to like the SR5 grille a little more. I just wish Toyota had more to offer in grilles and wheels when they came out for 2016. I was spoiled by Ford where you could actually build your truck. Before 2015 I could build a Ford with leather and not spent $40k. Those days are gone. All now give you 4 build options. At least now Toyota gives you some grille and wheel options. When I went looking for a 16 the open black plastic grilles did not appeal to me. My 08 prerunner grille looked better to me.

I did a hood swap - To get rid of my Scooop- To me it was a visual obstruction over what is already a pretty long hood. I do a lot of driving up steep hills where the lack of ability to see what was right in front of me was scary at times. I was looking for function over coolness - Clay

Don't down it. I am sure your truck maintains its coolness with a flat hood. Mine is a flatlander pavement princess so no real obstruction.

I chose the Sport for the same reason. I see so many others in my area with their grilles painted or dipped black. I think that many owners have the urge to make everything black ASAP, whether it's a Tacoma or a Civic, Mustang, etc. I'm personally happy with the chrome as well. When you add black accessories, the chrome doesn't stand out as much.

Figured your avatar would be 41 Busch fan today. Sorry had to say it. 42 sure looked stout Sunday. Just wish that Elliott kid would get that win.

Ha, did the exact same thing yesterday. The tweeters make a big difference is the highs, like you can hear music...lol. Also ordered the recommended Kicker door speakers from Crutchfield, and ordered Noico 80mil sound deadening off Amazon. Hope it isn't too much of a pita installing the deadening.

I gotta say mine sounds great without the deadening. I know it helps but after 6 months with Kickers I am very satisfied.

Yes reminds me of all the teens in my neighborhood. As soon as they got their first car out comes the flat black spray paint. Buicks, Hondas, Camrys, trucks. Doesn't matter. Everything from bumpers to hub caps to grilles to complete bodies. All flat black.

I'm grateful that we all have our own tastes. Those same "teens" probably echo a similar disdain about the "older" folks and their appreciation for chrome. It's all good.

Just to chime in. My BBP is blacked out. No chrome, but I had a white 2nd gen I chromed everything. To me some colors go well with chrome some go better blacked out. I saw a black 3rd gen that the owners accented with a Barcelona red, and even had red lettered tires. I thought it looked sweet.
