Also, you need at least 4.0 back spacing to keep them off the frame with a 255/85. Maybe more for 285/75

Really? That's interesting. Haven't heard of anyone needing spacers or offset wheels for 255/85. What does your lift measure out to? I was planning on getting 255 bighorn next set but didn't think I'd need spacers

Might affect how the widest part of the tire contacts the frame.. idk I'll just have to see for myself I guess. Thanks, I'll reference your build thread when I get the money to upgrade probably

I found that out too, if you don't know what trails you are on you'll be surprised that you ran a few blues without noticing it.

I still rub 33's fully cranked driver and fully cranked passenger :anonymous:

No rubbing on front for me with 33x10.5.

Trim a little plastic and hammer the pinch weld and was good to go.

haha yeah I'm staying away from 285. Seem harder to fit, and the weight/wider tire would probably destroy MPG and highway driving with 4.10s

This is more what I have heard from others with 33x10.5 or 255/85. Your wheel BS might help a little too

That's so odd. 255/85 must be considably larger, regardless of the fact that they "should" be the same size.

In the expo west article you linked in your build, it shows the 255 to be 1.3" taller than 33x10.5

I can measure my newest one I bought after LBL and see what it measures out to. I've read them being up to 34" from the factory but I think that would be on a 7" wheels. I'm running 8" wheels. I would be shocked if mine are more than 33".

    Edit:
That article is probably where I got that info from above. Pertains to the 255/85s not the 33x10.50s I guess.

Thought I'd throw this out there; 285/75r16 Cooper STT PROs. 885 OME coils with 1/2" spacers, stock UCAs. Bilstein 5100s. Stock TRD OR wheels.. Bora 1" spacers. Pelfreybilt aluminum bumper, Warn VR12s winch, synthetic line. 3pc Pelfreybilt aluminum skids. AllPro sliders. Sway bar in garage attic. Net lift ends up being 2-5/8" above where it was stock. DYF cmc. Routine plastic trim. Nothing too radical. You cannot make em rub. Lock to lock...forward or reverse. Stuffed to the bump stops (superbumps) STT PROs measured 32.7/8" new (center tread) on these wheels. Closest the tire comes to rubbing is a full inch. And that's plastic that could be cut more if needed. With lift I have alignment is good. (2.2 degees + caster) on stock UCAs at current ride height.

Wheel spacers....mild lift...don't go nuts adding weight....It's all good. 42+ years driver experience...It goes where I want it to go. May not be BIGFOOT, but it gets me around. YMMV

Are y'all talking specifically about km2s? Because if not then there is gonna be a wide variance in your baseline.

Carter beat me to it, I see.

Our 2nd gens can't be expected to have the same fitment issue pros/cons as a first or third gen truck. Hell, not all 2nd gens are gonna be the same, according to TW
