    Just needs more skinny.

It will, eventually, have a small psi boost mechanism on it. One day.

You may have to eat those words when you watch that first gen walk the trails you get stuck on.
Just because your preference is second gen doesn't mean it's any better.

I can attest to this, can't remember what trail it was but there is a huge rock on the left and then a "ramp" type rock to the right and every 2nd gen needed ~10 minutes of spotting and I walked right in between the rocks. But there were times where I wish I was fatter so I didn't fall into the ruts

    Or other way around....

    BTW. I've had 5 Tacoma's including 2. 1st gens. Can't say they're any better or worse.

Well, you and I have about the same set up.
When we went to AOP last weekend. All of the second gens had problems At the top of Titties but Carter just walked right up and his first GEN. Because it's was narrow enough to fit between the boulders that we were getting hung up on.
Now, if you want to call driver mod that's fine. But that means you have to show up and put your money where your mouth is. I don't have the 60+ years of wheeling experience you do but I'm getting better.

So. That spot you speak of....is it the Only place on earth you can wheel? I might know a few places where a little wider makes a difference. 6 of one....half dozen of the other..

First Toy I had was "pre Tacoma" 1984. I had 38"s on it. There were places where a gust of wind would have blown it on it's side because it was so narrow.

Like I said....neither is "better" just better in some spotsb not as good in others. BTDT, had 17 different 4wds and not gonna fall for the idea that narrower is better OR worse
