Mine doesn't chirp really. It's more of a "diesel" clanking sound, but very light and I have to be against a wall or in my garage to hear it. And quite honestly, I really like that sound. It's the injector cleaning cycle that people mention.

Oh my God. Mat hit a home run with 1.02C. Stop light to stop light shows he's matched the shift map to the engine's power perfectly. Did not notice any anomalies. Can't wait to for data logging so Mat can fine tune our motors. BTW running TRD PRO CAI, TRD Catback, and the A shift with 87 octane. I have no need to go 91 now. Thank you OVtune!

 

Im just over here still wondering if my package was mailed out, while everyone else (THAT ALREADY HAS A TUNE) is excited about the next version being emailed..

I read many times throughout the thread that people were getting email notifications when their package shipped. All backorders were being shipped Saturday, but I have not been updated. Just trying to get an idea of when to expect this?

 

Got my kit a week ago but just ordered a certified refurbished laptop off Amazon..

Oh ok. I cant keep up with it all. I thought he was referring to email files going out. Im not mad either way, just looking forward to it and wondering if I will have any of this before a trip next week.

That brings up another point. Those of you that are running 91 tunes. If you were to drive across the country, would you flash an 87 tune just to be safe? Never know what kind of gas will be available while you are on the road. There are some remote areas, where you are lucky to find gas at all, so you may not have the best octane selections.

Id hate to flash and have to relearn just for that reason, only to be flashing back to 91. But I also dont want to be on a 91 tune and have to put 87 in the truck.

Like to know what everyone think about this as well. I guess this is no different than driving a luxury car that require premium (91 octane)? If you in situation where only regular (87 octane) is available, you just fill up and drive conservatively until finding a gas station with 91?

Will the 91 tune detect knock (if any), and retard timing to avoid damage? Even if you run 87 on 91 tune? If that's the case, why bother releasing separate 87 and 91 tunes?
