Replacing Fog Lights with Driving Lights?

I want to replace my fog lights with a good quality set of driving lights which I will wire up so that they only come on with the high beams. I would like to achieve maximum light output to avoid having to use a light bar. In my area light bars are illegal and getting caught using one on road results in a hefty fine. I would prefer to use LED lights and a price under $200 if that's possible.

Thanks for the replies. Have you guys used these lights? The Pia's are $345 and that's a high price if they only worked OK. The Cali are priced right but how's the light output?

 

Also the Pia's description is "SAE Compliant Wide Range Fog beam pattern for superior visibility". Sounds like a fog light pattern to me.

If you want insane light output, you can move up to the squadron pro for more money.

The PIA's are street legal, making the light output differently. The calirasiedled are just regular flood lights, not suitable for street driving with other drivers on the road. If you wanted light thrown farther, you could get just the bracket and source your own spot pattern vs their flood pattern. They so those as well, so you could ask them any questions you have.

Squadron sport are priced at $229 and that doesn't include the mounting brackets which I think brings it over $300.

The Squadron Sport or Squadron Pro will be great options! The Sports will put out at least 2-3x the usable light over OEM where the pros will exceed 5x. These will provide much more usable light without any additional lighting under the hood or inside the cab. Everything is 100% Plug and Play if your vehicle was equipped with OEM Fog Lights.

I would definitely choose Baja Designs over anything else out there!

The combo/ driving pattern would be perfect.

 

Over $300 for the Sport and $500 for Pro's. It's just way over my budget and at those prices I could get a light bar that would throw more light than the Pro's.

 

Did you end up getting these lights? I'm looking at replacing mine with them now.

 

Yep Baja Designs are some awesome leds but seriously $$$$$$$$

 

I decided to go with a light bar but I'm still considering them. They worked well on my '12.

 

i dont use my low beams anymore.. my fog lights are on whenever i drive... this is me all the time...
