A guy here built his that way. the rack bolts to the bed floor to eliminate stress on the bed sides and it travels in the down position with the rtt level with the top of the cab. When he wants to deploy the tent he pulls the pins and lets it extend upward so the bottom of the rtt is just above cab height.
