Hey guys, Im currently tinkering around under the hood and came across the EGR valve. Never had one until I came to California and was required for emissions. Just another piece that can cost money and wish to take it out. What do I put in place of this? Thanks

There's nothing to be gained by removing it and the EGR is pretty stout on these trucks. You will also fail a visual inspection in CA if it's removed.

Im registering back home in florida. I purchased the truck 3 years ago and immediately needed a costly fix on it. Figured id take it off since it really doesnt serve much of a purpose. Just keeps big brother happy

I second this. You'll just cause yourself nothing but problems by removing the EGR. Newer engines are designed to have them. Who knows how many codes you'll throw and what else in the emissions system will get screwed up by removing it.

I second this. You won't cause yourself any issues. I've been running 40k miles since I got rid of it and no issues. A couple block off plates and a 10k ohm resistor across the 2 egr sensor leads and you're golden. It doesn't gain you anything really, but it's nice to have a mildly cleaner engine bay, or in my case if it's broke you don't have to replace it.
