Yea. Shoulda coulda woulda. At the time it made sense given my fabrication capabilities (brand new to welding at the time).

This was definitely a long term / stress type of break, as I haven't pushed the truck in the go-fast stuff as hard as I used to in years.

Well now you have an excuse to upgrade. I am still waiting on shocks so I can finish up my dmz sua and have just been driving around on leafs for the last month, but I am extremely happy thus far. Tim has been great to work with and the product is top notch. Hopefully gonna save up some moneys and go through them for engine/ trans mounts in the spring. And if the customer service is anything close to what it has been, they have me as a customer for life

Pay your friend in the windshield business to pull it and reinstall it for you? Kinda helps since I'm in the auto glass wholesale industry right now. Out of curiosity for when/ if I cage my truck I asked a customer of mine what he'd charge to pull and reinstall it for me. $60 seems like money well spent when that day comes

That the way to do it. At least my window had a crack to begin with so I didn't care too much. Never want to pull a window again though.

Yeah mine has a chip in it and with temp ranges from -14 to 97 up here over the last 2 years I am shocked that that chip has not spread. The og windshield is putting up a good fight and I am being stubborn about replacing it before it splits. But also being in the business I told my installer buddy if it ever does turn into a huge crack, since I have $0 glass coverage out here, I'll have him pull the windshield and install the new one a few weeks later or whenever I finish my cage( when the time comes ).

Basically when my windshield finally decides to split I'll have to decide if I'm gonna cage my truck or not

Hit a curb at the mall eh - didn't know they had them up there!

How did that occur? Looks like it could have been bad - like truck turnover cake nasty.

Would that cross member that he sold have stabilized that area? I remember reading some old posts on here with him saying he saw those shackle hangers flex and bend more than other areas that people were concerned about like shock hoops when they ran his kit. Oh well, time for more metal back there :D:cool:

Was cruising mild whoops at 35 mph.

No major hits, probably just years of flexing finally weakened the metal enough to give in.
