WOA man...so if you are getting 11.5 inches of travel with the TC, what did you get with the Baja Kits...10?

Did you pay attention to how the shop installed your limit strap when you had our kit? We did.

Well you can ask Bruno as he was the one who swapped out my limit straps with shorter ones to reduce the travel limits even more due to Jordan's instructions.

If I remember correctly from your pics, whoever welded your limit strap Upper mount welded it extremely too low for the 10” straps thus allowing the CVs to bind. So sending a smaller strap for your installers error was the correct action.
    But what do I know

I by no means am an expert. But I never had binding on their kit but I don't know enough about suspension geometry to try to say anything other than
One kit got 9-10" droop travel even after being checked over in the Baja kits shop regardless of "install error" the other kit is getting 11-12" of droop travel and has thus far felt more enjoyable to drive than my previous kit.

All this got me thinking about how some companies don't include adjustable clevises in a $3-4k kit when straps are going to stretch and clevises are a relatively cheap part - I wouldn't install limit straps without them again. Even if the kit I wanted didn't include them, the ones they did include would end up on CL or here.

Interesting how Allpro uses 1.25" UCA's and gets 12" of usable wheel travel, but Total Chaos and Solo use 1" and get 11.5" and 13". I'm sure the UCA has a deciding factor in the Up/down travel numbers. Curiouser and curiouser

People throwing around terms willy nilly in here.

"Droop travel" would be travel down from ride height.

I assume what is meant by "Droop travel" is total travel at the wheel, since there isn't a cookie cutter kit that can sport 11in of "droop travel".....unless you set ride height super low....which would kind of defeat the purpose of a LT kit, seeing as how you would have no bump travel....anywho.....

Now with that said....how does one find total travel if you don't check wheel position at full compression?

Not taking anyone's sides....things are being said that don't make any sense.

Someone with deep pockets needs to buy six or seven trucks similar trucks, outfit them with each kit and roll through some obstacles with high speed cameras. Of course our forum would probably cease to exist except for conspiracy theories regarding the validity of the test lol.

I like the fully threaded ones myself. The TC kit came with adjustables that only had thread on half of the stem, I swapped those out for a set of full threaded ones I already had.

Got it. In my mind I'm going when your long travel limit strap clevises need more travel, you are in rarified air lol. J/k - I'd like that too - depending on the setup the ideal place to mount them might be a little tricky so more adjustment is a good thing.

In the beginning I believe the consensus was Tacoma's had 8" of travel; 4" up, 4" down from stock ride height. 4" down (droop) 4" up (compression). The bolt on LT kits would be 11.5", 12", and 13" instead of 8." The droop and compression would be subjective to the ride height. This is my understanding.

    Yeah that's my point.

No kit has 11" of "droop travel" unless it's set up improperly. A TC +2 kit would only have 4.6" of droop set at 40% down travel.

And you also cannot measure wheel travel unless you have check the wheel position fully compressed. This takes work to measure properly, which most people will never do.

However you can still measure overall wheel travel
