iPhone and Entune issues gone away with latest iOS update

Mine is pretty smooth.

I think the app does what it is supposed to do. It’s pretty much linking ur apps like pandora, slacker radio, iheart radio and such up to your accounts so it’s stored and you don’t have to open the apps on your phone. The entune app communicates back and forth to the head unit apps via the Bluetooth. Works pretty good for me besides the occasional disconnection of Pandora. I usually kill the app and re open it.

 

What's this?

 

I just started running into issue when I updated to 11.0.2. My phone will connect, and play my music through Bluetooth. But, nothing display, and my controls on my wheel wont work with the music app (skip tracks, and change channels). Anyone else run into similar issues?

 

Oh and I forgot to mention the "hey Siri" feature for my iPhone 8+ has been broke going to ios 11/11.01/11.02. It use to work flawlessly synced up to the headunit with ios 10...Makes me mad, it was very handy.

 

I'll be listening to a podcast and it keeps switching over to my iPhone music, while hooked up via usb. I have to keep restarting the podcast. If a call or text message comes in, it will stop the podcast and switch over to mucis off my phone.

Music (off iPhone) will start playing automatically once I plug the phone into usb, without actually selecting it as the "source".

 

My head unit randomly froze up and rebooted while driving 3 days ago. Never had that one happen before. I don't like how the Entune system still notifies you of text messages even when the iPhone has DND while driving turned on.

 

Text messages....the first message I receive after starting the truck doesn't give you the option to play it. Only says "ignore"...then once I look at the text on my phone...any messaged thereafter will come through entune(?)

 

11.02 and now the phone won't connect at all...

 

ok... .. just realized that I made a stupid move..

I hade removed the upper console to cut in a switchPro ....

the console has the microphone .. it's needed to pair the phone..

will put the console back and I'm guessing ... it'll be fine

 

I had entune installed when i purchased my truck. It was the biggest clusterf-ck ever. I uninstalled it on my phone and now things run smoothly.

 

I'll trade you. My truck no longer notifies me of text messages.

Go to your bluetooth settings on your phone and make sure "notifications" are turned on...

Anyone update their iPhone to iOS 11.1 and now have issues with Entune? Bluetooth connects, but the Entune app does not recognize the truck and none of the connected apps (Pandora, Facebook, etc.) work. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Entune and Pandora app on the phone, removing and re-adding the phone via Bluetooth, and restarting the phone itself.

 

i do ....i even tried the "forget this device" solution and it didnt help

 

Hopefully Toyota updates the app soon. I wish they would also update the app interface. It is so old looking. If you download the Entune 3.0 app for the 2018 Camry, it looks way nicer. Toyota is leaving us hanging with a 6 year old looking app for 2017 model cars!

 

What does yall's phones say is the bluetooth device? Toyota Tacoma or CarAccessorySystem?

 

Can you download that on a 2016 Tacoma? If so, how?

 

I just paired my new iPhone X to my Tacoma today, and it now shows "Toyota Tacoma" instead of before it used to say "Car Accessory System." Not sure if this is due to iOS 11.1 or what.

 

No, Entune 3.0 is Toyotas newer system that comes in some 2018+ vehicles.
