    ...too much shit to list.

One other thing to keep in mind. 16000 lbs is the max rating. But the actual breaking force is 29,000 lbs. Might want to research what the smitty one is (if they even advertise it).

If you've got recovery problems, then I'm proud of you son

I've got 55 problems and smittybilt ain't one

I lied. I plan to put a factor 55 on the front of my shittybilt winch. At least the tip will work right.

Not sure about safer, safety latch makes it closed also, quicker at hook ups. My complete winch system is the weakest point compared to my 29k rated hook. Down fall, if something snaps that it's hook to gives way, look out, in coming.

There bulky though on the front also.

Had a wieght transfer happen on my winch and the clasp on my hook ripped off. So not as safe.

    True, theres that .1% possibility.
Probably why I went with more of a rigging hook.

Some of you already know this, but when winching with a standard hook, the safety latch should be facing up. If the hook snaps, it will most likely go into the ground.

Closed system winching is safer by design. Definitely not faster... or cheaper. The added EAF points are priceless though.

I'm a little skeptical. Is it a solution to a problem that doesn't exist kinda thing? Like Leanord said the spring loaded safety latch creates a closed system as well....and it's faster....but not all that faster.

I will say they do look super nice..very sharp and clean.
