I've heard Maui Offroad does it.

I've also heard of others like Universal 4x4 or Plan B Fabrications here on Oahu.

Most seem to order the third member from East Coast Gear Supply (ECGS) and install on their own or the help with friends.

I do using this method below. I don't have time to get intimate with the bearings and lashing the gears... I will take a job for drop in thirds, but I will not "regear"... I can come to you, pull your thirds out, you can send them out to be regeared as opposed to buying assembled thirds... But I can't down the truck in my garage, which is why I do that work at your house

I got no problem changing it out myself, just can't be without transportation so I'm prolly go the ECGS route and pay the core charge then swap everything out and send it back for the refund. I'm thinking that since Toyota has my rear diff fix kit (mine is weeping) on order that when it comes in maybe they can just swap the regeared diff for the stock one since the 3rd is coming out anyway and I can just switch the clamshell out on my next day off

They won't do that... They cannot legally use a non Toyota gearset... They will remove the existing unit and reseal... No swapping will be allowed and once it's removed you have to seal it again... If you plan to swap thirds, don't bother taking it for the recall unless you have to fill it often, and don't plan to do your third swap for awhile... They will use a silicone sealant that will no longer seal once separated... If you need some good sealant lmk, I got the bomb stuff that stands up to the harshest usage

I heard you got the right stuff for the job. LOL! well shit, so much for getting free labor on the install from Toyota. I heard that people were having Toyota do the ECGS bushing install(paying for labor) so I figured they'd have no problem with installing aftermarket. Wonder if they will just give me the install kit although I doubt it. From what I understand they replace all the bolts on the third member cause those bolts are stretching and that is what is causing the leaking.

I swear the initial bulletin was retorque if not leaking, and if leaking then reseal... I'm unaware of any other specifics
And I do use "the right stuff", but for this application I would rather use Loctite FIPG or Loctite 515

That was the initial bulletin. I just went and double checked, I thought they replaced bolts and nuts but it appears it's only nuts and depending how much fluid lost, the diff too.
Rahj with the Loctite FIPG or 515, mahalos for the advice on that
