What is the supposed benefit of this? The "vibration isolators"?

Yeah i imagine the possibility of rotational vibration is less because its solid from the bearing to the aluminum surround. The isolators would absorb the rotational energy in a more lateral direction.

may as well just get a pillow block with a sealed bearing in the proper size, would probably be cheaper then rubber mount with isolators like that. FYI this could ONLY be done on a 4x4 as they have a slip joint after the CB. prerunners do not.

But really just get a ford ranger CB form IEDLS and call it good.

I wasn't really referring to the cost. I know it still needs a bearing. I mostly wondering about the design itself.

    Not yet.
The driveline issue was on the list to get done this passed summer. It is sitting in a box in the basement (with the ujoints).
There is a place in NY that I wanted to get to, but the vibes got better so I wasn't concerned.

Not sure as I don't have any vibes but the last time it was at Drew's one of the guys said I had some play in it. But I am not sure if everybody would have play in it if it was suspended in the air with no weight on the drivetrain
