Okay tracked down a cheap Windows PC and ready to give this a go finally.

I want to make sure I do this correctly the first time, and I know the instructions on the OVTune website have not been updated to reflect the new dongles (no more purple guardant dongles). I searched in this thread and have found that once you download the drivers and PCMflash some have said to skip to page 11 of the instructions. This is confusing as this would skip the entire sections relating to reading the ECU and emailing to OVTune. Page 11 relates to the writing of the ECU.

So is it accurate to skip to page 11 after downloading the drivers and such?

 

With the exception of the image (purple dongle is now black) the instructions are the most current and how the process is now done.

 

If you have the V1 instruction, follow everything as far as reading the serial number for the dongle, and email OVT the serial number for license registration.

Anyone else have trouble downloading the Guardant software license installer (the google drive download)?

Other 3 downloads went fine, but on this page it says “sorry, unable to open file at this time”

 

if you're referring to the grdTRU.exe you do not have to download that anymore skip it.

Quick question: After retrieving files from the truck and sending to OV can you drive the truck while you are waiting on files from OV?

 

Absolutely.

 

Single gear downshift to appropriate gear confirmed. 6th gear cruising at 70, floor and it one single shift into 3rd and it's taking off, no delay. The two gear downshift is gone!

Dammit. I can't find the little USB button thing. Is this a generic item, or at least replaceable without buying a whole new dongle?

 

i was order# 2047. I believe he said all backorders were being mailed out today, and that he actually has a surplus of supplies. So I'm sure yours isnt far behind. If it didnt go out today..maybe tomorrow?

 

Dumb question, have you flashed your truck before? It may still be stuck in a USB port of that last device you used!

Other than that, I got nothin.. sorry dude but those things are serialized. You'd have to speak with Mat to get another.
