I sold my 255 st maxxs, I had them on for about 2.5 years, run roughly 12k a year. Rotate regular. Brand new they come with 18/32nds, these had just under 11/32nds left on them. Did great in all weather (never experienced any significant ice with them)

If you plan on wheeling in WV then you may have to bite the bullet and get some load E tires. Where I've been it's been rocky as hell. The ideal thing would be get a cheap set of wheels as your off road set, and mount some heavy, aggressive tires on those.

Edit: the ko2s are grossly overpriced for what they are.

Had michelins on the pilot, they did great. Even in the 3ft snow we had a couple years back, she tried going to work and high centered at the bottom of the driveway. After i dug out around it, i was able to get it back up into the garage without too much problem. It helped that our pilot had a locking rear diff though

    A thing or two...
Yeah. The Michelins did great in ice/snow. I drove from Socorro to Albuquerque and back on snow the covered highway more than once and never had problems. Dec 2014, I drove from the NM/TX state line through Amarillo and most the way to Wichita Falls with the roads a sheet of ice and the backend only ever went twitchy once.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Duratracs are on my short list... I really like the aggressive look, but aren't they damned heavy?

Pre-Tacoma all I ever ran was Michellins... Love their tires, but I don't see anything that looks like they would be aggressive enough for WV...

Not sure a second set of rims is in the budget. Need to pay for my lift too.

That's what I'm looking for right now. I already found a set of TRD OR wheels for $200. With that long of a commute, it'll eventually be worth it from a monetary stand point because you'll be saving gas as well as not wearing out your expensive tires quicker.

I have seen people selling the steel ones that come off base models for like a hundred a set before. Just gotta pounce when you see them. Thats why craigslist seems better. Always local people upgrading from stock.

And that is a good deal for the OR alloys

Agreed! Especially off a '15, so they're probably in great condition.

Have you thought about selling it to a used tire store? Could sell them the tire and then sell the wheel seperate.

Why limit yourself to 17s? If its a second set it doesn't really matter.

There are plenty of stores that sell used tires for a cheaper price. On my last truck when I was shopping for larger spare, I went to a used tire store and traded them. I gave them my brand new spare for a larger, used AT in the correct size. They did all the swapping free of charge since they got my spare tire. It may be worth checking out if you have trouble selling it.

Because after I lift it, smaller wheels/tires would look stupid? (IMHO)
