Not to mention Disorderly conduct, DV and possible Child Endangerment depending on where the kid was. But yeah, call it in as it's happening and if you need to step in to defend the victim, then do so (with the minimum force neccesary).

So, in violation of equal protection under the law and sexual discrimination, you feel that its OK for a woman to attack a man and the man has no right whatsoever to defend himself? You apply the law to man but not a woman.

the problem with the original posters situation is not a question of what he did and whether it was noble or not.. I think we all agree in the moral sense of the law he did what was right at the time which demanded action or imminent bodily injury could have occured.

However, in real life what he did was stupid. In real life, he could have been charged with all sorts of misdemeanors and even possible a felony. Then he would have to go through financial hell to clear his name. Not worth it in my book. Call the cops, let them handle it.

This is one of those arguments that get started over someone not reading the OP and then putting his own take on to things like most idiots do. I have been either concealed carrying or open carrying for almost 15 years now and I have never had to draw my weapon once. It is all about putting yourself in situations. Packefan did the right thing and it had nothing to do with the fact that he was carrying. As far as having a permit the only thing that I have is a concealed weapons permit from Utah that is recognized in about 75% of the states. If it is not good in the state then I have a holster that I wear on my side and I open carry just like you would carry a pocket knife. Now that I am in Europe I had to leave my babies at home.

This is what I am saying. He handled it wrong and could have possibly ruined his own life. What if the the guy beating on his women had a gun and took it out after noticing his? This crap happens ALOT man. Then everything would have went sideways and innocent people could have gotten killed. What this guy did was stupid. Yes, he had good intentions but did not think at all.

Shit, I live near the murder capital of the country, Newark NJ, and crap like this ALWAYS happens and it's sad to read about stupid, life ruining accidents

i still think youre focusing too much on the what ifs that youre coming up with because he had a gun rather than what actually happened

theres 409304583489534950943850349859345 different ways a situation can end especially when guns are involved...the OP didnt go out there with the intentions of using the gun, did not point and present or draw down or threaten the guy blatantly with it

you could argue that by wearing openly he threatened it but thats an opinion, which yours holds very little weight

theres always going to be what ifs...in EVERY scenario

the OP did the correct thing i feel (and pinal i believe agrees) except for having the cops enroute

there is nothing illegal or morally wrong with defending someone else even if you dont know them

and 3.4l im interested to know what charges you think the OP couldve racked up?

Yeah I do my research before I travel of course. The SC concealed weapons permit is actually pretty easy to get. I just had to show that I took all the classes and then let them do the back ground checks and I had one. I also had to do that in NC and Virginia. I make sure to follow the rules everywhere I travel. But thanks for the heads up.

Fair enough. I respect your opinion but as a responsible adult it should be in your head to think about what can happen before you run out of your house carrying a gun. ESPECIALLY when there is a women and a child there. I feel that is part of the responsibilty of owning a gun. I live in the NYC area and everyday I hear about things like this gone horribly wrong.

It seems to me that the only reason your on here is just to argue and stir the pot among the TW family and have no actual usefull or knowledgeable comments
