    Time for a Hi-Lift jack!

I've walked a truck sideways out of something very similar.

It's not fun...but it is exciting lol.

Thanks dude, they look like much better quality over what you see on Amazon/ebay. I'll be picking up a set soon!

I installed the tundra bed lights a few months ago. So, I tapped the positive and negative wires that run along the frame for the bed lights. They are already activated with the cargo light switch. If I didn't have the bed lights, I would have run a ground wire to the frame and a power wire up into the cab. There is a plug under the carpet on the drivers side rear. You could pop the wire through there then to one end of a switch and the other connector on a switch run a wire to power. Silicone where you pop the wire through. It's raining right now but when I take the seats out to put leather in, I can take pics of the plugs location.

That sucks big time man, next time you want to wheel in the pine barons hit up some of the local NJ guys and they will tell you where not to go.

Very nasty stuff. Pitch black dirt and water. Had the pleasure of spending most of a couple wonderful hrs laying in said mud and around the truck in the sand digging...in the rain..sucked. I am still scrubbing the junk out of my fingernails.!

    IMG_3644.jpg :annoyed:

And just for perspective, take a look at this one (one of many thousands and this one didn't even looks nasty, more like a Huuge puddle compared to most which look like mud bogs with deep ruts), I just drove over the far corner for the pic and my right rear tire half way disappeared....so I'd venture to guess it is more than a few feet deep!

Installed a Flowmaster Super 44 and 4” resonator exhaust tip. Actually sounds really good. Much better than I expected.

How is the drone at highway speed?

I used to have a Flowmaster 40 series with resonator delete on my old hemi charger, and I had a 10 series on my hemi ram, the 10 was ridiculously loud and 40 was not bad, never had a 44 though..

Edit: was gonna ask for a sound clip and you posted one while I was typing! Lol. Thanks man! Sounds good!!

It's really not that bad, honestly. Once you start coasting it becomes a complete non-factor, can't even really hear it until you ramp it up.

How is a hi-lift jack going to help in his situation except to see it sink deep into the mud?
I think the OP needed those maxtraxx tread things to get out from that one.

Was gonna ask the same thing. I figured he meant put a block of wood under the high lift, jack it up then try to push the truck sideways and hope it falls outside the original rut? Not sure..

Maxtraxx might have helped (What's the best place to buy em cuz I want some?) but honestly it seemed all 4 tires were Off the ground with the weight of the truck pushing downhill slightly and forward onto the skid plate and entire front underside. No matter how much I dug it seemed futile and was getting no where. When I got winched out backwards I realized that I was stuck worse than I thought. I had to get pulled back about 2-3 feet before I could gain any traction to back out on my own even with in 4Lo, rears locked up and in mud/sand mode. :drunk:

In my opinion the best way would be to keep an eye on CG or eBay for used ones. There are plenty of people who'd buy them on a whim and then never end up using them ever, and then sell theirs off. I got my rotopax that way.

Wide base for the Hi-Lift...get the rear up then push it off the jack until you've walked it out of the hole. Works great and is quite a workout too lol.

For extra fun you should try it while the exhaust gurgles under water and the truck threatens to stall at any minute. Real adrenaline rush.

If you have the right recovery gear you can use the hi-lift as a come-along too.

This. proper recovery gear is a MUST if you are going to be doing anything out in the woods and want to have some sense of self reliance. In my truck at all times is a winch, set of maxtrax, tire chains, various recovery ropes, soft shackles, snatch blocks and of course a hi-lift, along with tire repair kits, emergency food/water supply, batteries and various other odds and ends. Buuuuut I tend to be over prepared most of the time.

Yeah, you def. seem extremely well prepared.....

For the apocalypse. Haha. Just kidding.

I'll freely admit I was ill prepared. I was just so excited to finally have some free time to try out my new rig Off Road since I just passed 1k miles and broken in.

My plan was to just hit the easier trails for a couple hrs and head home. I wasn't planning on doing any of the crazy stuff but I found myself where I did. I guess the mindset I had was of a guy that gets stuck and then has to call for help like a jackass :( I have found myself in some hairy situation while out on my Big adventure bikes in the past too, I gotta stop doing that. I tend to always ride Solo.

    Lesson learned.
