Nice! Early Bow season was a bust for me...I didnt make it out much and tomorrow opens any weapon for deer and elk. So its game on...we are going elk hunting but if we happen to see a nice buck he will get popped!

If this dude keeps sticking around this water for 10 min at a time during daylight he’s gonna end up with a muzzy in the chest! Velvet should be coming off any day now!

I’ve actually never hunted with a muzzleloader, I was referring to the broadheads I use
However I would definitely love to go on a muzzleloader hunt. Anything I can do to give the animal an advantage and make hunting more challenging I’m all for. I’ve killed more than enough deer with a high powered rifle, I’m ready for some more difficult/rewarding hunts!

I like hunting with one. I’ve got a Thompson Center. Got it for like $150, threw a $50 Tasco scope on it. I’ve killed probably 7 or 8 with it over the last few years.

There’s a muzzleloader hunt on some WMAs that we try to go on. Killed a little 6 point with it last year, and killed a doe during primitive weapon season (1 week - between bow season and rifle season).

Me and Dad killed these during the muzzleloader hunt on one of the WMAs last year. He shot the doe at like 8 that morning. Then he shot the hog at 4 pm, I got the 6 point around 5.

I like muzzy broadheads. Also I dont know how challenging a muzzleloader after bow hunting;) Its still point and shoot. Basically anything under 100yds is dead in my book. I just like the wallop it does on deer...they usually dont go far but some do! I'll say most of mine either dropped in their tracks or went 30yds and kicked it...with the exception of one tough old doe that ran about 60yds down hill then another 20 up the other side before expiring!

Man I hear ya. It was opening weekend of quail season down here and when I went out on Saturday there were people everywhere hauling ass on the road and tearing shit up, camps with 20 people and when I checked my cams I had more people on them than deer. All slingin shotguns

yeah it was ridiculous...I was looking at a nice spot which would be good but some idiots drove all the way in there with their truck! Its public but what dumbass goes in all the way the day before season opens!! Then the other idiots blaring the radio, I could hear them 300 yds up the hill then they stopped about 80yds from where I was parked on my 4wheeler...I thought they were going to shoot at me so I just got my atv and took off away from them!

Here’s one of my favorite pictures. Family friend, DD. A French butcher from Alsace, some of the cleanest work I’ve seen. His wife branded his arm. E3738D4F-AB26-4E5E-ACD1-CA387941982C.jpg

I don’t blame you! In AZ we have a short early archery season in some units from late August to mid September and it’s always hotter than hell. I would have to have a serious buck patterned to try to hunt when it’s 118 outside :bananadead:

I also have family in south Texas who own land and I’ll be honest.. it gets hot in AZ. But there is absolutely NOTHING like that nasty, humid, funky heat they get down there! I went on a pig hunt in August a few years ago and it was literally the most miserable hunt I will probably ever go on.

Hey if u ever think "ill just cut as much meat off as i can and leave it out side over the sumer and the rest will dry up like jerky and just flake off" you will be wrong and if u live in the south u will have green antlers...20171011_161759.jpg this was my wife's 5 pt from last year (and each side is separate because i tugged a little hard or early when i was cuttin em off)
