Are they actually going to do this?

Since, it appears they really don't know what is causing the problems and that tacomas weren't really included in that pedal recall anyway (so I thought)?

I don't think the tacomas are part of the pedal recall , but Toyota has extended their brake override software update to the tacomas , so the letters will be for this , I beleive ,

I had my 2010 TRD DC in for an oil change, tire rotation and the broken radio volume(again). The service tech told me that there is a safety recall for my truck coming. He said it is going to be an update to the computer to reduce acceleration when the gas and brake are pressed at the same time as well as a pedal reshaping. He said the fix is still in the works and was in stage 4 of 10. He showed me the screen on his computer but I just took a quick glance. Might be just BS, I guess we will find out soon enough. On a high note they wash my truck and even shined up the tires, nice....

they also have redesigned floor mats coming, also the pedal foot pad will be reshaped in a way that it will not interfere with the floor mat, as well as the brake overide software, and possiblt some carpeting chages on the drivers side....SOO I HEAR!? I tried to get my all weather mats replaced last week because it has a hole in it after 6 months of use and they said they cannot get them now b/c there are new ones being releases soon...I was also told a lot of this will start in june

Hey fellow Richmonder! Just curious, what dealer are you "hearing" this from - McGeorge, Haleys, Priority or Mechanicsville Toyota?

Yes I hear the same thing the pedal campaigns are coming in waves so dealers are not overwhelmed. Yes the rumor is it will involve pedal reshaping and new ecm software to be installed, don't know about new tiba pads being installed under the carpet.

I heard the floor mat thing from McGeorge....all the other stuff is just hear say on other forums and internet sources...I have always had good luck with McGeorge they are a little overwhelmed at the moment b/c of all of the recalls going on...but I imagine no other dealer is different
