You guys are funny comparing a manual transmission to your little dicks. If you have to do that it speaks volumes.

Reason I drive a truck, is because I have a small dick

If I had a big dick, I would be rolling a Scion IQ

I would have called you an idiot at one point in my life, but you're right. My last 3 vehicles have all had manual transmissions, and the Tacoma will probably be my last......Well.....Unless I buy a BMW 2002, Miata, Vintage Alfa Romeo Spyder, or Miata.....

Maneuvering a trailer in tight spaces with the stick sucks and my wife can't drive a stick, so it's been a pretty miserable experience.

There are really two questions: do I want a stick shift?, and do I want a Tacoma stick shift? Answer to the first one could likely be yes. Answer to the second one is probably no. You can get far better performance shifting from the auto because of the throttle lag. The gearing in the Tacoma makes it almost unusable for anything truck related. The reverse gearing is absurd, making trailering a nightmare. The more experienced you are with manual transmissions, the more you will hate the Tacoma manual.

President McKinley w/KLM 203P and threw the roof antenna, ICON RXT leaf spring packs (position 2), Bilsteen 5100s, ARE Camper Shell, Pop & Lock tail gate, Dash Cam

I don't understand why having better control in the snow and engine braking is a bad thing....maybe it's because mine is a 4cyl (there goes the compensation argument) and therefore only a 5 speed MT it does not have the issues of the 6 spd?

    Gotta love generalizations

    Driving over 25 years
    3 continents
    Sports cars
    Motorcycles
    And a few Tacomas

    30,000 miles a year last 17 years

Perfectly happy in all things manual

My sports cars are manual, my trucks are auto. I've had manual trans trucks and found them to not be "fun", just a chore to drive but a necessity with a 4 banger. I test drove a V6 MT Tacoma and I was not impressed. Went with an auto and never looked back.

If I want to have fun driving, I hop in the Porsche and rev it up and go. NO stock truck can match the smiles of the 911!

I was a huge MT fan in my younger years. Had a Ford escort and Honda CRV with 5 spd's. LOVED THEM! I moved on to crew cab trucks that didn't offer Manuels so I started driving autos.
When undecided to get a taco, ideas super excited to learn they offered Manuel crew cabs. I was saddened to learn it was only with a short bed. I was more interested I the bigger bed so I got a auto.
After owning the auto I started spending more time on here, and read about ALOT of the issues if the 6spd. I'm pretty happy i wasn't able to get a 6spd.
