I gotta give you credit, because I've jumped on the bust Hunters' balls bandwagon and I really don't know you (though I honestly never meant to offend you) and you've taken it very good naturedly . But I've read posts from you that had me thinking you're leo of some sort, you're and engine mechanic and now trailer maintenance and probably a cardioligist. Coasties wear many hats as you know. I am a machinery technician by trade. We jack of all trades master of none. In my A school (MOS training for you) I learned:

Pipe fitting
Rethreading
PVC pipe fitting
Braising
Soldering
Basic hydraulics
Basic AC&R to be a qualified techs apprentice
Outboard engines
Internal combistion engines (diesel and gas but mainly diesel)
Pumps (impeller type driven by prime mover or electric motor)
Compressors
Shaft alignments
Trailers: electrical, brakes, and wheel bearings
Basic electricity
And coast guard admin stuff

A man of many hats.

I also hold qualifications for

Boat Crewman (need that just to ride on the "small boats" (anything under 65 feet) and Im only qualified on the ships small boat which is 13 feet

Then I hold a boarding team member qualification which gives me the abolities to carry out law enforcement missions under a boarding officer but I still need to know use of force levels of force and a WHOLE LOT of policy.

I am also CPR and first aid certified.

Crane operator qualified too

 

Had been running them on my roof rack for rods since I got the rack from Josh. Best way to transport 12 rods

I have pole holders mounted on my light bar for that. I didn't want to drive there with a 10' surf pole sticking up.

 

Yeah, I wouldn't keep the weight on there. Can't use the bed either..5' bed / 10' pole. I'm going to see a buddy of mine to basically copy Chux's setup tomorrow.

That's a lot of stuff. If you're not making the CG a career, take some advice from an old guy - no one wants to get dirty and work with their hands anymore. Learn as much as you can and you could have a very comfortable and secure living with that knowledge.

 

Yep, just one. But I like it, my dad made it for me when I was a kid. I've got a new 2 piece and a 1970's something I stole from my grandfather. Bunch of 7-8' poles to throw spoons on too.

You are in luck... Hunter is probably certified or at the very least "holds qualifications" on any computing you need
