    Good morning Susan and guys,
1500 homes burned in one area. Im quite a ways away from the fires. Closest friends have fine ash dropping in their yard. 12 fires up north here, nothing close to me.

I always wondered why mudslides and fires were so prevalent in California. About 7 years ago I lead an office relocation tram and was out in Sacramento area for a week. I understood the reasons after that trip.

I don't listen to the 9er's on Sundays anymore. My protest of their actions.

    Afternoon all:
Just common sense Ken, something that seems to be lacking more and more at all levels of society!

Common sense is one thing they can't teach in school Carl. It is definitely lacking in society especially where it should be needed the most .

What is this "football" you speak of? (I stopped watching football about 15 years ago. Stupid game populated by exploiters, misogynists and criminals. And that's just the owners!)

    morning all:
I haven't watched much football either for quite a few years. Usually the playoffs and sometimes the superbowl get my attention, but this year that may change also.

My heart goes out to all affected by the fires in California.

Makes a category 1 hurricane seem trivial by comparison.

Have noticed my vision getting worse this year and today my suspicions were confirmed. Just returned from the opthamolagist and now have cataract surgery scheduled for my left eye on Oct. 23rd and the right eye on the 30th.

Woo hoo! Will be great to have good vision again.....especially with hunting season coming up soon.

Glad your vision should be better once again.
Real smokey where Repo and I went Tuesday night, forgot a small fire was a few miles away, was thinking it was all from a fire in a neighboring county. Windy. Photo of first lake on way out.
Worked on a couple stoves. First one found out a part in the generator was loose, putting it in the wrong position, so it works correctly now. The other was an old Coleman, just used some Vaporust to help remove rust on burner pieces. Not real happy with the Vaporust performance. It runs real nice, great blue flames. Had to do one burner at a time, removing the pieces off the bunsen. Good couple days.

I hear you Gary. Did my annual visit to my optometrist last week and was told my left eye was great but the right eye might need cataract surgery soon .... referred me to an ophthalmologist (believe that's the correct spelling). The guy is supposedly highly respected and very busy. I'll contact his office next week and schedule a "consultation". One of my nieces (an RN) works for a well-respected cataract-surgery guy in SE Texas, but think I'll stay local. Hope your surgery goes well .... let me know. Everyone says it's a piece of cake these days.

    Tex

    Not Suitable for Family Viewing

I rolled out of bed in my sleep last night. Should know later on if any toes are broken.
