Well, the easiest risk to understand is it (the jack) sliding off it's perch. Then you have your truck falling from that height and the jack itself becomes a flying projectile. If you're lucky it will launch away from the truck, but odds are that it will attempt to become one with your tailgate. If you're actively pumping the handle while this occurs your squishy little meat bits could get caught between any of the various rapidly moving bits of metal.
Granted there are ways to mitigate the risk of sliding off... and that's where having the right tools makes the difference.

Got the truck a month ago, stuff is finally coming together. OME lift, are cap, led interior, speaker upgrade, weather tech mats, neoprene seat covers, RC 30 led bar, with stealth bumper mount, BAMF Grill.

Still to come, oem black flares, hid upgrade, roof racks later this week, bed platform, Hondo cell mount, tailgate light,

Not a huge camper fan, but that one looks extremely nice. Fits well with this truck.

The dealership installed chrome lettering, I hate chrome like a lot of other people, so I painted them black.

Cheers, I think so too. This truck is so beige, the black on the cap helps break up the lines!

Finished the switch install in the coin/key holder slot today for my 3 sets of KCs. Beam and Spot are interconnected with the high beam switch. Roll bar are hot wired to use regardless of key switch etc. I think it came out perfectly.

Switches are readily available on Amazon as example: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013XXPT3I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. They will give links to other styles.

The "plate" is all custom. I took out the dash panel and removed the screw-on coin holder, which was nice as it gave me the place to mark and attach a switch plate to. You could buy one and cut it down, but I cut out a sheet metal backer for the switches, painted it black and screwed it in the place for coin holder (from behind), then mounted the switches to it. I did need to "square off" the dash panel hole slightly (about 1/32 inch) to fit all three across as it was not a perfect rectangle with rolled corners.

Overall took about 90 minutes to fabricate and make it all clean.

If you have a panel removal tool ,the dash plate pops off fairly easily with 2 clips on top, 3 on sides and bottom, I found the top right of my plate had the most play to get it started. Be sure to test it all before punching it back in!

de-badged, tint front windows, led interior lights, door sill protectors, led b/up lights, 5" factory step rails, yellow turn signal bulbs, added 4 D ring tie downs. Took off the black vinyl stripes between the doors. Changed the grill - from Custom Car Grills, Finally got a tonneau cover put on. 31" light bar ( white & amber ), tailgate light bar, sunvisor covers ( to hide warning labels ), new bedside decals - still too cold to put them on tho. Flag decals to go on too, again too cold still. Got a 2 switch, switch plate to replace that useless cubby hole to the left of the steering wheel.. still to be installed ( hopefully this weekend ). Upgraded the tires to G/Y Duratracs... loving them, no plowing the driveway !!
