WTF is that nonsense?

 

Not all. I'm president for mine, and my one hard rule is "you don't have to be friends, but you do have to be neighbors." For some reason, setting a hard expectation of not being dicks to each other means that no one is being dickish. No loud parties, people mow their yards, we've managed to avoid curbside parking wars, trash cans are put away, and folks are honestly looking out for each other.

Not to get into the political and offend the CoC police, but we could use a lot more of that everywhere.

Especially the trash. No one wants to see that shit, Carl.

 

Some Facebook people who struck out on their own and did their own thing contrary to His Bobliness' wishes. They made their own stickers at their own expense, and put TW's name on it. I'm linked to them on FB, but I am not playing their sticker game.

Chad has drawn me in to the Texas Toyota Coalition. Probably against my will, but I'm unsure. I thought that drink tasted funny.

 

I refuse to live in an HOA. Our street is pretty good about looking after eachother. If there's a can knocked in the street, we'll pull it into the driveway for them.

It's the street over that's dicks. Parking the wrong way. Need to put in a tip to the police for easy citations.

 

I think I was invited to that before, but I'm not sure. There's honestly so many toyota groups in the Texas area, even Houston. All with their own group leaders. Most of the groups will do beach meets in Galveston and then crawl over the dunes.

 

We have to because we have community property that has to be maintained, and then annual taxes (less than $900) and insurance for those community areas. We're all volunteer, and because we are we've managed to keep the annual fee to $150 a home. The community next to us is $125 a MONTH...but they also get hike and bike trails and a swimming pool. We researched a management company so we wouldn't have to be an all volunteer HOA...and it was going to make our fees jump to $250 a year. Unanimously voted "fuck that" and we've been managing ourselves ever since. We're cheap.

Thanks to proximity, we get hike and bike trails for FREE!! Can't get in to the pool, though, but considering how many kids pee in it...not a bad trade off.

When I was framing houses it would take us a week & a half tops from day 1 to finished framed house. Still needed other trades to come in to make it a finished house obviously.
Keep in mind these were cookie cutter homes not custom so every one was about the same. We'd just go down the street throwing them up, occasionally we'd get a reverse print but it was still the same. Lol

Oh yeah.

So many new rules and regulations going into effect over here.

Trying to get away from the cookie cutter appearance.

But I still see it all the same.

 

Hasn't changed here, almost every house in new subdivisions look the same. The only thing that's changed is building codes. It's been a few years so I'm not up to date but after Hurricane Andrew there was a ton of big changes.

I need to come up with a business name by tomorrow. I’m starting a house flip/Remodeling business with a friend. I need more dumb ideas, meeting with a lawyer tomorrow to set it up.
